Week #28 – One Tree / Three Ways

On a farm not far from Mt. Barker, a Red Gum tree sits alone in a paddock.  This photo could have been taken anywhere in Australia – scenes like this are in abundance.  For me the significance of the image is not necessarily the tree, but the amazing night sky.  On a night with no moon, and out of reach from light pollution caused by nearby towns, the sky comes alive with stars.  If you have a spare few minutes, check out this amazing video of the known universe and just try to comprehend it’s size.  Also, check out this image taken on the same night.  The colours of the sky are amazing.
