Week #6 – Middleton Beach Horse Training

At dawn 4 days a week, come rain hail or shine, racehorses train on Middleton Beach.  Today, Sharna, Stephen and Mike were in the saddle.  When I asked Mike (right) if he enjoys riding on the beach he says  “I love it.  The horses enjoy it so much and you get them fit.  The beach was perfect, and the surface underneath the horses was perfect.  Getting paid to work on the beach when it is like that, it’s magnificent isn’t it.”   Mike has been riding horses for 33 years but only recently moved to Albany.   He says that Albany is “A lovely place, very pleasant”.  I would agree.
