Week# 31 – Canola Crops

Drive a few kilometres’s east out of Albany along the South Coast Highway and you come across some of the first canola blooms of the season.  At this time of year, canola fields become a distinctive and vibrant part of the Great Southern landscape.  Rumour has it that the canola flower is the brightest, naturally occurring yellow in the world.  Earlier this year, I photographed a Pingrup farmer who forecast a bumper season for canola.  Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
