At the inception of this project I did say that images for ‘Portraits of the Great Southern’ would be of big things, small things and everything in between. I think this picture series falls into the last category. Recently, I have travelled Albany Highway back and forth to Perth to photograph several weddings. This little gem, the Tunney Roadhouse, sits on the the side of the road between Cranbrook and Kojonup. It is one of those, ‘blink and you will miss it’ type places. Except for the fact it is pink. So I stopped, dropped a few frames on it with one of my favourite lenses, the Canon TSE 45mm, and kept on going. It looks like they stopped serving pies a long time ago.
