I found out today that I was announced as one of three finalists in the the United Nation Association of Australia Media Peace Awards 2012, in the ‘Best Photojournalism’ category. A few months ago I travelled to Pakistan with fellow West Australian Newspaper journalist Steve Pennells to cover a series of stories on refugees. Steve was also nominated as a finalist in the ‘Best News Print’ Category with has fantastic writing and reporting. Below is just one of the many images shot in the Afghan refugee camps in Pakistan. We truly live in the lucky country.
